Not much is known about Sock Drawer, except that they are a boy/girl duo from Brighton whose influences range from the XX, Romy, Sylvan Esso to MGMT.
Ahead of the release of their debut single, ‘Serious Tune’, on 2 November, the duo dropped this hauntingly addictive remix by ex-Radio 1/Rinse FM DJ and recent Kungs collaborator Shadow Child, and it’s brilliant.
With hints of their influences floating in the background against some chilled synths, breaks-inspired beats and gorgeous vocals/harmonies, the track has already caught the attention of Apple Music (Electronic addition) and Amazing Radio (C-List).
Although, we wouldn’t be surprised if over the next week or so, spins could soon be heard on Radio 1 specialists shows, Kiss and Rinse FM. Sock Drawer are currently working on their debut album with producer James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Georgia)
